On Windows and NetWare platforms, your Installation CDs will install the correct Java version, if necessary. On Macintosh platforms, the Java version is generally installed with the operating system.
NOTICE REGARDING OPERATING SYSTEM SERVICE/SUPPORT PACKS The configurations listed above include the latest releases by the major operating system vendors at the time the A+LS CDs were released. Operating system vendors such as Microsoft, Novell, and Apple will often supply "Service Packs," "Support Packs," and the like to their customers. In some cases, these Service Packs will alter the security methods, database compatibility or Java versions required in such a way that the A+nyWhere Learning System will no longer install and/or function properly. In most cases, we have patches immediately available to deal with these situations, most often applied automatically over the Internet. We constantly monitor Service Packs issued by the operating system vendors and strive to ensure that A+LS will function with the very latest. However, there may be short time lags, so we ask that, before you apply an operating system service pack to your server or workstations, check www.amered.com/tech_info for the latest A+LS operating system certifications.
